History
Formed in 1952, The Stanland Group was set up by three families, two of which gave their name to the company.Stanland soon became the largest launderette group in Great Britain, with over 60 launderettes throughout the North of England.
As society became more affluent and washing machines at home became more popular, the group decided to diversify into other areas of commercial laundry, namely the supply and servicing of laundry equipment.
In the 1970s the groups ownership was shared by two well known northern families, with Richard Rowntree (the York chocolate manufacturers) as its Chairman.
In 1990 the present Managing Director joined Stanland and the Group has further developed from then.
The Stanland Group of Companies now consists of ten divisions all closely related to the commercial laundry and catering industry, with a combined turnover of £5,000,000.
In 2003 the Head Office of the company moved to a 25,000 ft2 complex in Teesside Industrial Estate, next to the A19 on the outskirts of Stockton-on-Tees and Middlesbrough..
